What a Capital Idea!
Funding DCA's Capital Projects
As summer hits its stride, the days grow longer, beach traffic picks up, and families relish their much-needed vacations.
Here at DCA however, campus projects are just heating up. That’s right, summertime is the time to tackle our school’s capital projects.
Maintenance and improvement projects demand attention year-round, but our operations staff capitalizes on the quieter summer months to tackle larger ventures that need completion.
Where We Get the Capital for the Projects
Dublin Christian Academy relies on the generosity of sponsors, families, and friends to raise the funds needed for our capital projects.
Part of the funds received for capital projects comes from our Annual Fund, Giving Tuesday in November, and a state day of giving in June called NH Gives. However, our Spring fundraising campaign serves as the main funding source for each year’s capital projects— these funds are specifically raised for such initiatives.
Our Spring Fund is indubitably an opportunity to raise capital funds and it provides an opportunity for the student body to participate in the raising of funds for projects that will impact them directly.
Students can earn rewards for their fundraising efforts by reaching out to family and friends to support their school in acquiring essential equipment. This initiative fosters friendly competition among different grades and gives our students a chance to bond as individual classes and a student body as a whole. Exciting prizes are awarded such as donut parties, casual dress code days, and extra recess time, to name a few.

Caring for Our Campus: The Importance of Stewardship
The former Staghead Farm where Dublin Christian Academy now sits is an incredible piece of property with its rolling hills, country charm, and picturesque foliage every autumn. It’s also an incredible task to take care of a school that is set on old farmland—hosting equally old and historic buildings for its staff and students that deserve to be preserved as close to their original state as possible with modifications to serve the needs of a K-12 school.

Raising money for capital projects like the new playground can be fun. They have a tangible and appealing quality about them that provides immediate gratification to the students who enjoy them. We are truly grateful to the donors who make these projects possible.
But, other not-so-fun projects take place on our campus that are equally important. Repairs to leaky faucets, aging septic systems, and roof repairs are all tasks that require prompt attention and lots of money. And it’s thanks to the tireless efforts of our operations staff throughout the year that these essential jobs are completed—keeping our campus safe and welcoming to our staff, students, and families. We thank you as well!
To keep such improvement projects properly funded, DCA has created a sustaining capital fundsupported by monthly or annual donors who are committed to preserving and maintaining our facilities.
Capital Projects for Summer 2024

These are some of the capital projects that will be taking place this summer, each having a positive impact on DCA in different ways:
Playground: This project has been at the forefront of most peoples’ minds—especially those of the students. As a result of the incredibly generous support of our community and the unparalleled enthusiasm of our students to raise those funds, the new playground for grades 1-6 will become a reality this year. The site work is complete thanks to Morello Construction and the structures are being painted. We are expecting them to arrive any day and we can’t wait to install them. Students will be able to enjoy a new slide, swings, merry-go-round, climbing dome, and monkey bars for the coming school year. This will help the DCA kids thoroughly enjoy their favorite subject—recess!
Faculty Housing Repairs: Having safe and functional housing for our staff members who live on campus is a must. Although these types of repairs happen throughout the year, the summer is a great time to get some of the bigger projects done to ensure our staff has a welcoming place to call home when they’re done being the world’s greatest teachers and administrators each day.
Conclusion
Whether at home, work, or school, God calls us to be good stewards of what he has blessed us with in our lives. Thanks to the support of our community and the hard work of our operations staff, we can answer that call through fully funded capital projects that take place each year.
Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to know more about the Spring Fund, our capital projects, or our rolling capital project fund.
Thank you for helping us maintain DCA as a safe, fun, and God-centered place of learning. We are looking forward to reaping the benefits of our labor.
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
