World’s Longest-Running Mystery, The Mousetrap, Comes to DCA
Agatha Christie’s celebrated play The Mousetrap comes to the Dublin Christian Academy stage on April 30 and May 1. The world’s longest-running play, The Mousetrap, has been running continuously since 1952. And it’s no wonder that it’s a favorite: seven characters trapped by snow in a remote guest house, a mysterious murder broadcast over the wireless, the unexpected appearance of the police, and at least one character who doesn’t make it through the first act.
DCA’s production will feature three sets of siblings (with sisters Sarah and Jessany
Katka, directors, making a fourth set). This is the first time in DCA history that this many
sets of siblings will appear on stage together.

Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged. DCA relies on donations to cover production costs like scripts, costumes, lighting rentals, and the set. The Mousetrap will be performed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, and again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1 in the school auditorium at 81 Page Road in Dublin. Inquiries about the performance, receipts for donations, or reserving space for larger groups may be directed to advancement@dublinchristian.org.
Our Upper School cast will perform Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, on Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. and Thursday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.
This classic play tells the story of Horace Vandergelder, who hires Dolly Levi, a matchmaker, to take him to New York in search of a wife. In New York, two of Mr. Vandergelder’s clerks get caught up with two lovely ladies, creating a much larger romantic conundrum. After an eventful evening at a lavish restaurant, the characters get mixed up in all the commotion. In the end, everyone ends up with their true love, including Mr. Vadergelder who finds himself a wife in the most unexpected woman.
