Student Life

Training for leadership involves more than academic pursuits – it involves a culmination of experiences that cause a student to stretch himself to grow. Dublin Christian Academy affords students many of the experiences necessary to nurture their leadership capabilities. Student Council members and class officers test their abilities with the responsibilities of regular meetings, fund-raisers, banquets, Winter Break activities, socials, and much more. Gro Groups (led by staff) give students an outlet to share what they have been learning and the chance to help mentor and encourage each other. Students’ shoulders bear the responsibilities for the details of activities throughout the year, guided by helpful faculty advisors. Dorm students also bear responsibility for helping the Academy run efficiently by taking on a campus job – pitching in like family members to help get everything done. Opportunities for leadership in the dormitories rounds out this aspect of the experience.

Dorm Information

Currently, DCA has two single sex dormitories. Each dormitory has shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Students can relax, watch movies, do group studies, and enjoy other recreational activities in the dormitory lounges. In addition, each dorm room has one to two beds, two closets, and a desk.

Breakfast is self-service in the dorms each morning. Lunch and dinner are provided on a daily basis by our kitchen staff. Coin-operated washers and dryers are also available to students.

Dorm Life

Dorm life is a fun and exciting part of the Dublin Christian Academy experience. Both dormitories are staffed by a dorm supervisor who lives on site. They will hold group devotional times, make sure students go to bed and wake up at a certain time, prepare meals for students, and transport students to stores so that they can get any items they may need. Additionally, our dorm supervisors organize recreational dorm activities such as bowling, shopping, movie nights, and pizza parties.

In order to fulfill the mission of our school, we require all dorm students to attend Mountain View Bible Church, which is located directly on our school campus. Students are expected to go to church every Sunday for Sunday School, morning service, and evening service. Dorm students who go home on the weekend are also expected to attend church with their family.

Dress Information and Guidelines

As a Christian organization, we want our students to reflect a Christian testimony by dressing in a way that is consistent with the Biblical principles of modesty and courtesy (I Timothy 2:9).

As an educational institution, we want to promote an appearance that reflects high standards of academic performance and the importance of education. We do, however, recognize that different types of clothing are appropriate based on the occasion or activity.

Dublin Christian Academy has chosen Lands’ End and French Toast as its dress code suppliers. Upper School dress must be purchased through Lands End and French Toast except where otherwise noted
