Atmosphere at DCA
To kick off the new school year, we are introducing a series of blogs with a centralized theme. This next series is titled The Dublin Difference.
To our alumni from decades past, The Dublin Difference is a phrase you may be familiar with—in short, it’s all the aspects of DCA that make it unique and special compared with other private, Christian schools in the area and beyond.
To kick off our new series, this article will focus on the atmosphere at DCA: the sights, sounds, interactions, and overall energy that define our school.
Strong Academically yet Family Friendly
Make no mistake, DCA is an academy that offers high-quality, rigorous teaching, aimed at college preparation, all while focusing on a biblical worldview.
DCA is accredited by the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS), which not only meets but exceeds NH nonpublic school standards. AACS is an NH Department of Education and US Department of Education-approved accrediting agency. This accreditation is voluntary, not mandatory, but we believe it is important to have outside evaluation to make sure our students and families receive the very best.
We take academics seriously, but DCA is also a place for students and families to have fun! We host ice cream socials, homecoming festivities, movie nights, and competitive (and for-fun) races.
Family is a central part of our school and culture. Students spend at least seven hours of their day at DCA, with some here 24/7, and we make it a priority to know our students and bond with them. We want every student at DCA to know they are an important part of a school family that loves them, and point them to the blessings of being part of the family of God. Family is also important because our staff and students are made up of families. Some younger generations from the same family walk the same halls as parents and even grandparents did. Several members of our staff are DCA alumni and are proud to support the mission of their alma mater that greatly impacted their lives.

Our Beautiful Campus
There are few places that compete with the beauty and majesty of the Monadnock Region. Dublin, New Hampshire, has all the New England charm you would expect in our neck of the woods.
Rolling green hills surround the campus, and the breathtaking fall foliage creates a wonderful masterpiece of color. Wildlife calls DCA home as much as our students do—don’t be surprised to see a gaggle of geese in our nearby pond or a deer peering out from the treeline on the sledding hill.
We like to think of our outdoor space as not only a place of recreation, but also as a second classroom. As the weather permits, it is not uncommon for teachers to bring their students outside for a science class to study butterflies or study the stars at night.
To further take advantage of our “outdoor accommodations,” we offer organized activities you may not find at other schools. Each winter, students enjoy tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and sledding on Fridays, when our lower class students bring sleds from home for a little extra fun in the snow.
We truly thank God for this space He has blessed us with. The Dublin Difference is all around us in the trees and hills of DCA.
Relationships, Relationships, Relationships
Perhaps the defining aspect of the atmosphere you’ll find at Dublin Christian Academy is the relationships built here. Strong connections made at DCA come in different forms, even ones you may not expect:
Students and Fellow Classmates:
This may seem like a no-brainer. Although students do often develop friendships with other students, the relationships here tend to be deep and lasting. Students here do share more than classes and lunchroom tables. They share chapel time where they grow in God’s Word as brothers and sisters in Christ. They devote time to volunteering, serving others through wonderful causes in the community. Field trips, concerts, and competitions aren’t just fun. They are places where students can mature spiritually and support each other.
Students and Staff:
Our staff and teachers provide far more than educational teaching and guidance. They are disciples, invested in the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of each child who attends DCA. Our GRO (Guidance, Responsibility, and Openness) Groups enable upper-school students to build trusting relationships with faculty and staff in the classroom and beyond. For our international students, staff becomes family while they are in their home away from home, providing a safe, loving space that resembles a household rather than a dormitory. Our teachers not only want to provide a solid education for their students, but they also want them to have a loving relationship with Jesus.
Students and the Lord:
The objective of everything we do at DCA is to point our students toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, while encouraging them to share the Good News with others. Our biblical worldview is entwined in our academics, our sports, our concerts, and everything else we do in Dublin. Bible class is part of the standard curriculum for each grade, and lower- and upper-school students all participate in chapel. Servant leadership is emulated in our community service projects. At DCA, faith isn’t just taught—it’s lived.

We offer a free educational consultation for parents to meet with our administration, tour the campus, and ask questions. Students are also welcome to join us on a shadow day prior to admission to see how a typical day plays out at DCA: visiting classes, eating in our dining rooms, and interacting with staff and students. They’re also welcome to ask any questions they have before joining the DCA family.
