World’s Longest-Running Mystery, The Mousetrap, Comes to DCA this Month
Agatha Christie’s celebrated play The Mousetrap comes to the Dublin Christian Academy stage on April 30 and May 1. The world’s longest-running play, The Mousetrap, has been running continuously since 1952. And it’s no wonder that it’s a favorite: seven characters trapped by snow in a remote guest house, a mysterious murder broadcast over the wireless, the unexpected appearance of the police, and at least one character that doesn’t make it through the first act.
DCA’s production will feature three sets of siblings (with sisters Sarah and Jessany Katka, directors, making a fourth set). This is the first time in DCA history that this many sets of siblings will appear on stage together.
Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged. DCA relies on donations to cover production costs like scripts, costumes, lighting rentals, and the set. The Mousetrap will be performed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, and again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1 in the school auditorium at 81 Page Road in Dublin. Inquiries about the performance, receipts for donations, or reserving space for larger groups may be directed to advancement@dublinchrsitian.org.
