Common Grounds Student Coffee & Snack Shop with Bathrooms

When the pandemic forced us to close our student snack shop, then located on the ground floor of the Classroom building (former pig sty!), we realized how important this space is to our community, yet with our school family growing, we needed the current snack and coffee shop space for new classrooms. In tandem with the classroom expansion, we wanted to create a fresh, new coffee and snack shop and revive this important place for building and strengthening relationships outside the classroom. We believe lasting relationships among and with our students are critical to nurturing the next generation of Christian leaders. With support from business parners and our school families, we raised funds to relocate Common Grounds to the main building in space that used to be faculty studio apartment, an office, and Jenkin Hall. We added an entrace with two renovated bathrooms from the student dining room. The former apartment serves as the hub of common grounds were students order food. A former faculty mail room was converted to a prep kitchen. An old office became our Stag Swag Shop, and Jenkin Hall continues to be a place where students gather, how featuring cafe tables and chairs, a vending machine, and a cozy sitting area by the fire.
